FBN Holdings’ GMD, Urum Eke, Loses Mum

The passage has been announced of Madam Ahudiya K.U. Eke, mother of the Group Managing Director of FBN Holdings Plc, Mr. Urum Kalu Eke.
A statement issued weekend by Chief Otems Otaka Eme on behalf of the family said the sad incident occurred on September 18 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after a brief illness.
“It is with a heavy heart but with the utmost submission to the will of God that the families of the late Elder K.U. Eke, Nde Nnem Inyafu and Nde Nnem Ola of Abiriba community in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State announces with regret the death of our matriarch, Madam Ahudiya K. U. Eke, which sad event took place on Monday, September 18, 2017, at Sapiens Specialist Hospital, Port Harcourt, Rivers State,†the statement read.
The statement further said that Madam Ahudiya was a virtuous woman with an uncommon zeal for the works of God and service to humanity through her various community services.
It noted that her death was a huge loss not only to the immediate family but to the entire community that depended on her in both material terms and the wise counsel she often offered.
The statement described the late Madam Ahudiya as a devout Christian and a rare woman who had a penchant for touching lives.
It added that she led an exemplary life characterised by modesty and her refusal to be carried away by the trappings of life.
According to the statement, “Her death is indeed an irreparable loss to those who had come across her during her lifetime. She was kind, hardworking and, above all, humble.
“The grace of God was manifest in her and she radiated it around her dependants and associates. Her peaceful disposition was marvellous and worthy of emulation. She preached peace, lived in peace and died peacefully.
“Mama UK, as she was fondly called, will be missed. But we pride ourselves in the quality of life she lived and the footprints she left behind, more especially in her children who are all accomplished professionals in diverse fields,†it stated.
The statement also indicated that the burial arrangements will be announced shortly by the family and prayed that God comforts the family, the entire Abiriba community, and grants her gentle soul eternal rest.
