Mohammed Aminu in Sokoto
The senator representing Sokoto North senatorial district, Aliyu Wamakko, has admonished youths in the country to strive to pursue education to the highest level.
Wamakko, who spoke Thursday night when he received the first indigene of the state to attain the prestigious rank of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Suleiman Usman, at his residence in Sokoto, stressed the need for the youth not to relent in the pursuit of knowledge no matter their profession.
He challenged politicians in the state and Nigeria at large, to imbibe the virtues of patience, perseverance and contentment.
The lawmaker expressed dismay that most people who were elected councillors and chairmen had abandoned learning in the pursuit of politics.
Wamakko, who is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education, hailed Suleiman for his determination and doggedness to attain the enviable feat.
