EIN Supports Differently Abled Children in Lagos

In line with its corporate social responsibility initiative, Event Industry Nigeria (EIN), in collaboration with Event Market Nigeria (EMN) recently supported the differently abled persons in the society by organising a charity event tagged ‘Differently Abled Meet and Greet’ for Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially Sighted Children, Surulere, Lagos.

The event was a platform to encourage and support the blind children and inspire them to greatness to be self-actualised citizens in the society. It was also to make them realise that people do care about them to inspire them to the fulfillment of their dreams.

The Event Convener of Event Market Nigeria, Temmie Amodu said the visit to Pacelli School was to alleviate the plight of the differently abled and create a platform of expression and self-actualisation for them.

“The EMN Differently Abled Meet and Greet is to uplift the plight of the differently abled to live to their full potential because we do care for them. They are abled members of the society and should be encouraged.”

He advised the students to keep their dreams alive and cling to their passion in order to live fulfilled lives.

It was an atmosphere of fun as differently abled talents seized the occasion to entertain themselves and the crowd. Among them were Abednego Norris, the first blind African rapper and multitalented artist who anchored the event and proved that sight impediment does not deter one from showcasing humor and wits. Kelly Blind of Wazobia FM was full of nuggets and jokes to inspire the children to greatness while sharing his life experiences.

Miss Ejiro Sharon, an Ex-Pacellian also explained how she chases her dreams and explained how she strives to achieve all her goals. “Being differently abled cannot deter me from chasing my dreams as I believe we all have different goals to achieve, whether being physically challenged or not. So I will chase my dreams with all I have got. I am looking forward to becoming the first blind ambassador to the United Nations.”

Funfair and party was also organised for the students and some differently abled personalities were invited to anchor and talk to them which all created an atmosphere of upliftment, learning and excitement.

In her remarks, the Principal of Pacelli School, Sister Jane commended EMN for deeming it fit to visit the school to support the differently abled students. “On behalf of our students and the school, we say thank you for supporting the aspirations of the children.”

Various event vendors were present to show their support and spice up the occasion. ‘Son of Man’ an upcoming comedian and alumni of the school, currently studying at King’s College, Lagos also performed with other students showcasing their talents in comedy, dance and playing the talking drum.
