Seek Closure of N1.3tn Funding Gap

Giving a fresh condition for them to meet the federal government’s expectations, Oduntan explained that the current N1.3 trillion financial gap created by the sector’s non-cost reflective tariff, must be addressed by the federal government.

“Categorically, until the tariff gap is addressed by the government, we do not see a pathway to meeting both commitments.

However, we make our consumers a promise that if this gap is addressed and addressed holistically, we commit to ensuring that improvement in our service delivery is ramped up, and electricity distribution turned around in three to four years,” he added.
