Kaita Flags off Campaign in Daura

Daura the home town of President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina State, was agog Thursday as the All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts in the state led by its Chairman, Alhaji Shitu Shitu, stormed the city to flag of the party’s campaign for Katsina North senatorial by-election.

House of Representatives member representing Kankia/Kusada/Ingawa, Hon. Ahmed Babba Kaita, won the party’s primary conducted recently for the August 11 by-election.

Addressing party supporters, Kaita assured them that he would carry everybody along irrespective of tribal, religion and political affiliations if given the mandate to spearhead the affairs of the zone as a senator.

While assuring the people that he would work assiduously to ensure that the motions moved by late Senator Mustapha Bukar are accomplished, Kaita called for cooperation to enable him win the election.

Earlier, the state Chairman of the party, Shitu, urged the aspirant not to disappoint the people of the zone but to work in harmony with them, adding: “The party campaign will commence on tomorrow.”

He admonished eligible voters in the zone who are yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so in order to vote for the APC candidate.

Other APC stalwarts at the event were the state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu; Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Mustapha Inuwa; Speaker, state House of Assembly, Hon. Yahaya Kusada, among others.
