Ooni Inaugurates Ife Digital Job Centre

Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has advised youths to utilise the opportunities in entrepreneur to become a creator of jobs instead of seeking for job.
He gave the advice at the Ife Youth Economic Summit and official inauguration of Ife Digital Job Centre, held yesterday at Oba Okunade Sijuwade Memorial Hall, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Ooni Adeyeye who described youths as future of Nigeria, charged them to eschew violence and avoid being used by politicians in the coming governorship election.

He promised that he would continue to promote youth developmental programmes, maintaining that the menace of poverty and unemployment could be combatted with ICT.

Speaking on the theme: “Youth Employment and Challenges of Enabling Environment- The Way Forward”, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity, Mrs Ibukun Odusote, insisted that youths must be ICT compliance with the present situation of the country

She said the present administration under president Muhammadu Buhari has been making serious efforts towards diversifying economy to Information and Communication Technology, ICT.

She described the event as “timely, commendable, saying the topic is apt and germane given the unemployment that youths face in Nigeria.

“You need to think of creating job instead of waiting for jobs. The quest for good leadership is solving the problem of unemployment, that is why this government is not taken unemployment with levity. Government is committed to solve unemployment crisis in Nigeria,” she said.
