Tambuwal Sacks Wamakko’s Allies

Mohammed Aminu in Sokoto

Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has moved against the allies of a former governor of the state, Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko, by approving the
compulsory retirement of two permanent secretaries from the state civil service.

The retired permanent secretaries include: Suleiman Sarkin Fulani and Aminu Dikko.

This was contained in a statement released by the Director General of Media and Public Affairs to the Governor, Mr. Abubakar Shekara, and made available to journalists in Sokoto.
The statement also said the state government had also dismissed the Commandant of the Sokoto State Special Marshals, Alhaji Saidu Madawaki.

However, many believed the sack of the three officers was political, as they were associates of Wamakko.

Tambuwal parted ways with Wamakko after defecting from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last two weeks.
