Kwara Gov’s Aide Resigns

The Special Assistant to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State on Environmental Services, Mr. Sunday Ogunniyi, has resigned his appointment with immediate effect.

The development, according to THISDAY investigation, might not be unconnected with Ogunniyi’s alleged move to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC)  ahead of 2019 general election in the state.

Sources close to the APC in the state hinted that some of PDP members had been holding meetings with the leadership of APC so as to defect to the fold.

Ogunniyi,  in his resignation letter dated August 21, 2018, and addressed to the state governor through the Secretary to the State Government(SSG), Alhaji Isiaka Gold, disclosed that the resignation takes immediate effect even as he was thankful of the opportunity given him to serve.

“While thanking you to continue your happy tenure, I am sincerely thanking you sir for the opportunity given me to serve,” he added.
