Ganduje Heads 63-man APC Campaign Committee for Osun Election

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has been appointed to lead a 63-man All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign committee for the September 22 governorship election in Osun State.
This was announced wednesday by the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja when he inaugurated the committee.
The committee, which will hold its campaign across nine constituencies in the state, has no fewer than six other governors as its members.
The Zamfara State Governor, Abdul-Aziz Yari will serve as deputy to Ganduje while governors Yahaya Bello of Kogi State; Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State; Abubakar of Bauchi State; Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State, Simon Lalong of Plateau State, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa and Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, are members of the committee.
Other members of the committee include all APC lawmakers from the state and some ministers.
Addressing members of the committee after their inauguration, Oshiomhole stressed that it is very paramount for the party to retain the state after ruling it for eight years.
He said, “By way of protocol, the 63 names I just read out constitute members of the Osun State campaign council. We are very grateful to Governor Ganduje for graciously accepting to provide leadership and chair this very important committee.
“So, we have a body of experience to go about and the whole idea is to sustain the values and the ideals of our Party, which is based on transparent elections on the basis of one man, one vote and joining forces with the party leadership in the state, to work hard, to mobilise people of Osun State to vote wisely for the APC candidate in the next governorship election that is scheduled to take place by the special of God on September 22, 2018.
In his response, Ganduje commended Oshiomhole for the confidence reposed in them, reiterating that his committee would do all it could do to win the state.
According to him, “Our chairman, on behalf of this powerful council, I will like to thank you very much for having confidence in us.
“The task ahead of us is very important. So, I think Mr. Chairman what you have done is to match the quality of the council with the importance of assignment.
“There is no doubt that winning Osun Sate is very vital to the party, the government because its a state we shall retain, it has been our state in APC for the last 8 years and by the will of God we will maintain this state in order to have a 100 per cent states of the South-west part of this country in our great party,” he said.
