Zikel Cosmetic Holds Beauty Expo, Empowers Youths with Make-up Skills

Zikel Cosmetic, a proudly Nigerian beauty brand, recently brought together top makeup entrepreneurs, makeup artists and brands influencers at an event in Lagos tagged, “Lagos Beauty Expo”. The event turned out to be an assembly of like minds in the makeup industry where ideas that will move the industry forward were shared while also promoting the Zikel brand.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer, Zikel Cosmetics, Mr. Kelvin Ezike Chinedu, said the event afforded stakeholders opportunity to share lots of ideas. He was of the view that the beauty industry has been neglected for so long despite the huge potentials in it, noting, “We have been able to learn a lot from some of the famous makeup artists and brand influencers that turned up at the event and we actually agreed on ways to move the makeup industry forward”, he said.

The event, which also had the Zikel brand ambassador, actress Halima Abubakar in attendance, was also graced by prominent brand influencers in Nigeria. It also featured the launch of Zikel’s new product, “The Browfidence”, a premium rectangular eye brow pencil and brow brush all in one.
The CEO of Zikel Cosmetic who was quick to explain why Halima Abubakar was chosen as the Zikel brand ambassador, said, “We chose Halima because she is beautiful inside out and there are lots of qualities that we appreciate at Zikel Cosmetics that we saw in Halima. That was actually why we went for her and we are happy for it.”

The event also saw Zikel Cosmetics empowering some youths with make-up skills as part of its monthly empowerment and annual scholarship programmes aimed at combating unemployment challenges. Chinedu who has since taken a special interest in empowering youth, explained the reason behind this motive.

“I used to be a banker but at appoint management threw us out of job and I had to find a means to make ends meet and I thank God for today. And because of my past experience, I have taken a special interest in empowering the Nigerian youths. So last years, we gave out a scholarship to someone at the tone of #300,000 and this year we would be giving out also a scholarship at the tone of #500,000. The scholarship comprises of tutelage by one of the best makeup artists in Nigeria and free supply of Zikel cosmetics products for one year.”

He also made call for distributorship for Zikel products. “You can actually make up to #300,000 per month selling just Zikel products. We have tried to make it in such a way that you earn so much money on each product. When you become our distributor, you sell same prices with us and we also refer customers to you while you make your money. And Zikel is all about affordability, and affordability is the watch word for us”, he added.
