ADC Cautions Members against Anti-party Activities
By Adedayo Akinwale in Abuja
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has cautioned its members against engaging in anti-party activities and inaugurated the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) congress ahead of the 2019 general elections.
The party’s National Coordinator on Electoral Matters and INEC Liaison, Chief Anayo Arinze, while speaking at the event that took place at the national secretariat of the party, urged the newly-elected members not to put the party to shame.
He said; “Don’t do anything that will bring the party to shame. Your job is to flush out APC from the corridors of power.
“The Federal Capital Territory belongs to ADC. I want to tell Abuja indigenes that the time has come to wipe away your tears. It is unfortunate that the Abuja indigenes have no representative in Federal Executive Council (FEC). We assure you that if ADC is elected into power, we assure you that Abuja will be adequately represented at FEC.”
Arinze added that if the party in power concerns itself about the plight of Nigerians, it would provide basic amenities like light, good roads, portable water, but stressed that the APC only cares about itself.
According to him, “We ask every Nigerian to come into the ship of the third force. We assure them that we will bring a positive change that Nigerians have been yearning for. We are going to take over Abuja.”
Also, a chieftain of the party in FCT and Nigeria’s former High Commissioner to Gambia, Ambassador Esther Audu, said the party is out to repair, not to destroy and to bring Nigeria back to its glory.
