PDP Screens North East Aspirants in Bauchi

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commenced the screening of its aspirants from the North East who are vying for the various elective offices in 2019 elections in Bauchi State. 

The exercise as at the time of filing this report was being held in Bauchi which is the zonal headquarters of the party with all the aspirants from the six states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe appearing before the  screening committee headed by Mr. John Mathew Abinku.

Speaking after he was screened by the Screening Committee of the party at the Zonal Secretariat in Bauchi at the weekend,the Taraba State Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku warned that Gombe and Taraba States are no-go areas for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties in the 2019 general elections.

Ishaku said his party was very prepared for next year’s general elections, adding that “ we will be victorious by the grace of God Almighty “.  

The governor also  boasted that the PDP is battle-ready to win more states in the NorthEast geopolitical region considering the acceptability of the party in the region due to what he described as the failure of the ruling APC to deliver. 

The Governor who is the sole aspirant of the PDP in Taraba State explained that his tremendous achievements have endeared him to the people of the state, adding that that was the reason no one is contesting the PDP ticket with him. 

He expressed optimism that the PDP will spring electoral surprises in the North East geopolitical region in the 2019 general elections.

The governor who said that his administration has excelled in the areas of education, agriculture and prompt payment of workers salaries assured that the administration has plans to do more for the people of the state. 

On the screening exercise, he commended the committee for doing a good and thorough job declaring that it was a transparent exercise in line with the guidelines of the PDP.
