THISDAY has gathered that former President Olusegun Obasanjo and  former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will address a joint press conference shortly in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The two leaders who have had a no-love-lost relationship over the years held a closed-door meeting at Obasanjo’s hilltop residence, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Liberary (OOPL), Abeokuta Thursday.

Present at the meeting, earlier reported by THISDAY,  were the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, and Kaduna-based Islamic scholar, Ahmad Gumi.

The four men have been critical of President Muhammadu Buhari, accusing him of performing worse than immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan in every area.

THISDAY reliably gathered that Thursday’s meeting was to enlist Obasanjo’s support for Atiku’s candidacy on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
