The Managing Director of Halogen Security; Mr. Wale Olaoye is to chair the event while the Managing Director/Chief Executive of Remax Realtors; Mrs. Funke Adesoji would lead others in unveiling and launching the book.
According to the authors, the essence of publicly presenting the book is to announce to Nigerians that time has come for the private security industry to be taken more seriously by government and all other stakeholders in terms of making it a noble profession like law, accounting, banking and so on.
They added that their own contribution is by way of providing knowledge-based information as they have done in the book which they described as a valuable material for personnel of the various private security companies in the country.
The private security sector in their words; has become a large employer of labour as more companies are being licensed by the Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC to render services that relate to personnel and industrial security across the federation. It is estimated that no fewer than two million Nigerians are direct and indirect employees of the over one thousand licensed private security companies in the country.
One of the high profile guests expected at the occasion is the National President of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) Dr. Davidson Isibor Akhimien who is currently running as the presidential candidate of the Grassroot Development Party of Nigeria (GDPN) in the 2019 elections.
