The National leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has said that Senator Olufemi Lanlehin remains the governorship candidate of the party in Oyo state in the forthcoming general elections.

This laid to rest the speculation in the media about the authenticity Lanlehin’s candidature at the poll.

The National Chairman of the Party, Chief Ralphs Nwosu disclosed this wednesday in Abuja after an emergency meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

“In line with our earlier press statement on the issue of ADC’s gubernatorial Candidate in Oyo State, the National Working Committee of our great Party wishes to announce that Senator Olufemi Lanlehin remains the gubernatorial Candidate of ADC in Oyo State

“We have had to revisit the issue to ensure that we accommodate all concerns from various quarters. We have had meetings with all the stake holders of our great Party, including all the aspirants at all levels of elective positions

“This was to ensure that the choice of Senator Lanlehin satisfied the aspirations of all Party leaders, members and stake holders of our party,” he added. The party chairman assured party members and stakeholders that the party was positioned to take over the government House of Oyo State come 2019.

He also warned that the party would not condone acts capable of destabilising the impressive progresses already recorded in the state, while also stressing that all the contentious issue and the grievances of all other aspirants had been ammicably resolved.

On his part, the Oyo State Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Ahmed Ayinla commended the leadership of the party over the amicable resolution of the matter, saying that it further served as moral booster for the members of the Party in the State who have been waiting patiently to hear from the National leadership of the Party on the issue.
