Bayern, Freiburg Live on StarTimes Today
In its usual manner of treating subscribers to an awesome football experience, StarTimes subscribers will this weekend continue to enjoy live matches from the Bundesliga season as Bayern Munich slugs it out with Freiburg at the Allianz Arena on today, by 3:30p.m. on StarTimes (Channel 254 and 245).
Bayern, currently occupying the second position on the Bundesliga table with 19 points will battle it out with 9th placed Freiburg with 12 points to progress on the league table.
Bayern Munich are set to be without Thiago Alcantara for ‘a few weeks’ after the influential midfielder suffered an ankle ligament injury. The Spanish international limped out of the German giants’ DFB-Pokal win over Rodinghausen on Tuesday, adding to injury worries for manager Niko Kovac.
The former Barcelona man, 27, who has played in 14 out of 15 competitive games this season, was replaced on Tuesday night in the 75th minute after being fouled. And Bayern Munich Coach, Niko Kovac, who was under pressure last month after a run of four games without a win, admitted the injury “doesn’t look good”.
Bayern, second in the Bundesliga after nine matches, have had injury problems all season with Tolisso, Leon Goretzka, Kingsley Coman, Arjen Robben, Jerome Boateng, Rafinha, Mats Hummels and Franck Ribery all absent at times.
Wolfsburg will also host current Table toppler, Dortmund at the Volkswagen Arena today by 3.30p.m. West African time for more points to retain its place as the first on the Bundesliga table.
