Group Mobilises Anambra Youths for Atiku/Obi Ticket
As the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Peter Obi continue to gather support across the country, a campaign support group, the Dubem Onyia Youth(DUYA) for Atiku, says it was ready to mobilise Anambra State youths to ensure their victory in the 2019 general election.
As a strategic vanguard of Atiku/Obi presidential ticket, DOYA is primarily focused on taking the message to the youths in all the nooks and crannies of the state through voters’ education advocacy programmes.
According to the Coordinator of the group, Enyi Onyekachukwu Samuel, also known as Katchy Samwealth, while speaking Awka, the objective of DOYA was to sensitise the youths at the grassroots, especially those who cannot read or write and those in the higher education campuses in the state, on the Atiku/Obi ticket.
“DOYA has a stronghold in Anambra and believes in the joint Presidential candidate of PDP, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and former governor of the state, Peter Obi; as it represents what Nigeria needs to rescue the country from the current economic, political and security crisis. The Atiku/Obi president in 2019 will bring fresh new perspective not only to governance but with the youths as the main trust.
“Every young person in Anambra State should know what the Atiku/Obi means for the future of the great nation. Our confidence is in the joint ticket. They are the best at this point in our national life. DOYA has a resolve to support PDP to succeed,” said Samwealth.
He further explained that DOYA, a brainchild of a former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Dubem Onyia, was committed endearing the Atiku/Obi ticket in the minds of the people and working to raise an army of youth voters in Anambra State to ensure victory for the PDP candidates in the coming election.
He said that functional structures would be established across the state with plans to elect Executive members of the body in the coming weeks.
