Abuja Agog for 43rd CBN Senior Tennis Open

After the qualifying rounds that ended on Sunday, the Main Draw chart of the 43rd edition of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Senior Tennis Open Championships served-off yesterday at the Package ‘B’ of the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Players are to battle for the top Perez’s in both the men and women’s singles categories as well as the doubles and the wheelcahir men and women’s singles division.

The men’s singles will be played in the round of 64 with Joseph Imeh as top seed while the women’s singles category will be observed in the round of 32 where Quadri Oyinlomo who is the back-to-back champion is the player to beat.

Oyinlomo won the title in 2019 and 2020 and is going for the third straight win of the event.

Other top players listed for hostilities include Christian Paul, Clifford Enosoregbe, Abdulmumuni Babalola and Shehu Lawal among others.

In the women category, the likes of former Champions, Sarah Adegoke and Christy Agugbom, Blessing Samuel, Aanu Aiyegbusi, Ronke Akingbade, Blessing Anuna and US-based Marylove Edward will be on parade.

Sarah Adegoke who blamed injury for her inability to claim the title last year, has vowed to stop the defending champion Quadri Oyinlomo in this edition to reclaim her lost glory.

Similarly, men’s top seed, Joseph Imeh, is optimistic of winning the men’s singles title in other to claim the N1,000,000 prize money at stake plus the giant trophy.
