Anthill Studios Back with ‘Progressive Tailors Club’

A new Anthill Studios production titled ‘Progressive Tailors Club’ has presented its cast for the upcoming satire which parodies community politics. The new comedy drama which officially commenced principal photography recently will be the first Anthill Studios’ movie with a female director, Biodun Stephen. According to the executive producer Niyi Akinmolayan via an Instgram post, “Anthill Studios is back with another delicious movie in production.”

The post further reads “This is very special because it will be directed by the legendary @biodunstephen (Breaded Life, Joba, Perfect Picture) and will be produced by the amazing @victoria_akujobi (prophetess, DOD, Elevatorbaby).” Biodun Stephen was the director of “Breaded Life,” “Joba,” and “Perfect Picture”. Ever since her debut hit, The Visit, Stephen has consistently shown she is one of the most charming screenwriters in Nollywood.

She is credited with relatable, engaging stories with themes of love, abuse, grief, faith and comedy. For the new Anthill project, she will be working with Victoria Akujobi who will serve as the producer. Akujobi has also worked on several movies such as “Prophetess”, “DOD”, and “Elevator Baby”. Alongside production updates, the studio recently unveiled some of its cast including veteran actors Rachael Oniga and Jaiye Kuti.

Other thespians on the bill include Adedimeji Lateef, Bolaji Ogunmola, Uzor Arukwe and Blessing Jessica Obasi. Progressive Tailors Club” is a beautiful and engaging satire about community, politics and accountability. More updates on the movie and release date will be known in the coming weeks.
