By Victor Ogunje
The Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has congratulated a former governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba, on his 82nd birthday.
Fayemi, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, said the highly revered veteran journalist has lived his entire life serving the people and Nigeria as a celebrated journalist, politician and statesman.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum hailed the former governor for being a loyal party man and exemplary leader, whose commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been unwavering since the party metamorphosed from Alliance for Democracy to Action Congress and then APC.
He added that Osoba’s lofty contributions transcend partisan politics as the octogenarian has consistently proven to be a patriotic Nigerian who is passionate about the Nigeria project.
“I on behalf of my family, Government and people of Ekiti State congratulate our highly respected Chief Osoba on attaining 82 years today.
“His life is worthy of emulation. He has been a pathfinder, leader and mentor and father – figure to many of us. As a man who governed his state between 1992 and 1993 and 1999-2003, his impact in Ogun State still remain indelible.
“He has made great leadership sacrifices borne out of his selfless spirit to serve the people. It is my prayer that the good Lord will grant him more years in good health so that we can continue to tap from his wealth of experience,” Fayemi said.
