Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has congratulated former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, on the occasion of his 82nd birthday anniversary.

Fayemi in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, said the highly revered veteran journalist has lived his entire life serving the people and the country as a celebrated journalist, politician and statesman.

The chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) hailed the former Ogun State governor for being a loyal party man and exemplary leader, whose commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been unwavering since the party metamorphosed from Alliance for Democracy to Action Congress and now APC.

Fayemi added that Osoba’s lofty contributions transcend partisan politics, as the octogenarian has consistently proven to be a patriotic Nigerian who is passionate about the Nigeria project.

According to him, “On behalf of my family, government and the people of Ekiti State I congratulate our highly respected Chief Osoba as he attains 82 years, today.

“His life is worthy of emulation. He has been a pathfinder, a leader, a mentor and a father-figure to many of us. As a man who governed his state between1992 and 1993 and 1999 and 2003, his impact in Ogun State still remains indelible.

“He has made great leadership sacrifices borne out of his selfless spirit to serve the people. It is my prayer that the good Lord will grant him more years in good health so that we can continue to tap from his wealth of experience.”
