The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at Sivasspor and was one of the standout performers for the club.

“An agreement has been reached with Shakhtar Donetsk for the loan of our football player Olarenwaju Kayode, whose contract has expired at the end of the season, until the end of the 2021-2022 season,” reads a statement on the club official website. Kayode was on target four times in five matches in the group stages of Europa League for Slvasspor last season and said those were the kinds of performances coaches don’t easily ignore.

“When you continue to put up your grade A game on a weekly basis, you will definitely draw the attention of the national team coaches and that is something I’m working hard to achieve,” he said.
