Accolades as Fayemi’s Adviser, Margaret Fagboyo, is Honoured

It’s a period of celebration and recognition for resourceful Margaret Fagboyo, Special Adviser to Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi on Development Partnerships and SDGs, as she was recently conferred with the prestigious honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) in Public Administration of the Charisma University, British West Indies.

Fagboyo, whose portfolio of excellent and rich experiences, particularly in international development, gender mainstreaming, and institutional partnerships, has ensured that her credential is revered in both public and private sectors, and guaranteed her a front row in the gathering of intellectuals.

The ever amiable and dynamic Fagboyo, prior to her current role with the Ekiti State government, had almost two decades impeccable career in the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID), an arm of the British Government department responsible for development and poverty reduction efforts in Nigeria, where she served at a time as the Acting Head of Office and Regional Coordinator for the South-west, South-south, and South-east regions in Nigeria.

In nominating her for the recognition, the Board of Regents and Senate of Charisma University said Fagboyo, who is also the Secretary of the Ekiti State COVID-19 Resource Mobilisation Committee, was awarded the honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) because of her significant contributions to society, which are consistent with the values of the institution.

Meg, as she is fondly called, is a highly ethical and dutiful wife and mother, who brilliantly combines her rigorous official schedule with the responsibilities at the home front.

She possesses a Masters degree in Public Administration and International Affairs from the University of Lagos and is a recipient of the 2019 United Nations Distinguished Leadership and Role Model Award. She was also recently recognised and conferred with a Fellow and Exemplary Leadership Award of the Institute for Strategic Management, for her invaluable contribution to preventing the spread of COVID-19 in Ekiti.

In her characteristic humble manner and background as a team worker, she dedicated the award to the great men and women and the frontline health workers, who have been working assiduously to carve a niche for Ekiti in the management of the pandemic.
