Lucky Ujomu: Twitter Ban Affecting Online Businesses

Luckybay Homes Nigeria Limited and Luckybay Estate and Properties Limited have continued to soar in the Nigerian real estate landscape as they are known names to stakeholders and observers. The companies’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Lucky Ikechukwu Ujomu has frowned at the Nigerian government’s decision to temporarily ban the use of the bird App, Twitter.

For Ujumo that move has so far crippled a lot of small and medium scale online businesses, who majorly depend on clients from different social media platforms to excel.
He said, “I think it is totally wrong for the Government to ban Twitter or any social platform because most businesses are done online these days. It has so far closed down some young businesses. In my line of business, there are certain areas we would want the government to look into and take actions for a better Real Estate Development in Nigeria. They need to support entrepreneurs and not implement a policy that affects them negatively. For Real Estate entrepreneurs, we need the government’s support in the aspect of funding and making documentation faster.”

When asked who his mentors are in real estate business, LuckyBay Home Founder mentioned himself as his first choice because, he is passionate about real estate business, “but if asked to have a one on one session with a renowned businessman in the world, I will pick Roman Abramovich; he’s a philanthropist and he has a large heart came from a poor background.”

Speaking further, the Luckybay Homes boss avows that no prudent investors will overlook the opportunities of real estate where there is room for newcomers as either estate developers or property marketers. “Real estate is a business that in a bust or boom gives a high Return on Investment (RoI),” he says.

Ujomu avows that he has no regret being in the real estate business. “This is what I always wanted to do. That is why I did not mind starting as a broker before I founded Luckybay Homes Nigeria Limited which has grown in leaps and bounds to become a major real estate company in Lagos State,” he states.
