Local Government Chairmen Commend Sanwo-Olu on Sports Summer Camp

The chairmen of Ijede, Ikorodu North and Igbogbo Bayeku Local Council Development Areas have hailed Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for backing Lagos Sports Summer Camp.

The Ijede council chairman, Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba said that the Lagos Sports Summer Camp was a testimony of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s love for children.

She stated this during her pep talk with the campers at the Oriwu College, Ikorodu, venue of the Phase 2, Season 2 of Lagos Sports Summer Camp in the Lagos East Senatorial District.
“I want to thank our lover of children, Mr. Governor for doing this for Lagos children and for bringing it to Ikorodu Division.

“There is no doubt that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu likes children and wants them to be useful in life, that is the reason for this Lagos Sports Summer Camp is happening,” she said.

She urged the campers to make use of the opportunity given to them by the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Sports Commission.
Also speaking at the camp, the Ikorodu North council chairman, Adebisi Abiola, gave kudos to Lagos State Government and the Lagos State Sports Commission for engaging the children in sporting activities and vocational skills at the Lagos Sports Summer Camp.
“Thank you Governor Sanwo-Olu for doing this for Lagos Children.”

Igbogbo Bayeku council chairman, Olusesan Daini, commended the governor for giving approval to Lagos State Sports Commission to organise the Summer Camp.
He made this commendation when he visited the participants of the Phase 2 of Summer Camp on Tuesday.

According to the chairman, the camping was to enable the campers have better relationships with one another and promotion of team work.
He urged the campers to transform what they are learning at the camp to a life changing activity for a better tomorrow.

“You can be a producer of large power bank in your locality, if you concentrate on what you are being taught on how to produce power bank which is part of what you are going to learn at the camp.”

The chairman promised to give the campers some gifts during the closing ceremony to round off the seven days camping today.

Meanwhile, the Board of Lagos State Sports Commission also visited the venue of the Phase 2 of the Lagos Sports Summer Camp at Oriwu College on Wednesday to motivate the 120 campers.
Leading some of the board members to the venue of the camp, was the Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission, Oluwatoyin Gafaar.

Other board members on the visit are, Dr. Abdul- Fatai Abatan representing Ikorodu Division, Shina Ogundimu, Lagos Island Division, Lanre Sahid, Badagry Division, Lanre Orimolade, representative of the youths, Biola Lawal, Chairman of Chairmen, Lagos State Sports Associations.

Phase 3 for Lagos Central will hold from September 5-11 at Surulere, Lagos State.
The Phase 1 of the Summer Camp for Lagos West was held at Badagry Grammar School.
