APC Congresses Hold in 5 Niger LGAs Today

Five Local government branches of the All Progressives Congress in Niger state that rejected the consensus arrangements initiated by some stakeholders of the party are to go to the congresses today (Sunday).
The LGAs are Wushishi, Rijau, Shiroro, Bida and Lapai.
Chairman of the APC Congress Committee, Senator Domingo Obende, confirmed that five local governments could not agree on consensus and will go ahead with election at 10am.today.
Obende told newsmen on Saturday that the committee will conduct a transparent free and fair election which result will be acceptable to everyone.
He therefore urged party faithful in the affected local governments to remain calm and conduct themselves peacefully devoid of violence or chaos.
On Saturday’s exercise, Obende said it was relatively peaceful but with “few challenges especially for the position of Chairmen,” saying that the challenges have been resolved.
