‘Castle & Castle’ Series Season 2 Premieres

First, a first look at “Castle & Castle” cast poster released days earlier had acknowledged the second season of the legal drama series’ which premiered exclusively on Netflix last Thursday, September 15, is set as scheduled. This comes three years after the first season lit up TV screens in 2018. All of season 1 of ‘Castle and Castle’ was later moved to Netflix. Set in a successful law firm run by a married couple, Remi and Tega Castle (Dakore Ebuson-Akande and Richard Mofe-Damijo respectively).
Their marriage comes under strain when both Remi and Tega decide to represent different sides of the law, and viewers returned every week to see if the marriage would survive the business or vice versa and season two is no different as it chronicles the aftermath of Remi and Tega Castle’s first appearance before a court of law. Will the couple be able to forgive each other for choosing different sides of the law or will their resentment towards each other destroy that which they built on love?
The second season of the EbonyLife Studios’ production will feature a mix of new and returning cast members. Richard Mofe-Damijo (Tega Castle), Dakore Egbuson-Akande (Remi Castle), Denola Grey (Ben Castle), Blossom Chukwujekwu (Malik Mustapha), and Eku Edewor (Nneka), Bimbo Manuel (Duke Castle), Dorcas Shola-Fapson (Doshima), Daniel Etim Effiong (Mike Amenechi), among others reprise their roles from the first season. While new additions to the cast list include Bisola Aiyeola, Bimbo Ademoye, Kenneth Okoli and Mimi Chaka.
Speaking on the return of Castle & Castle, EbonyLife studio boss, Mo Abudu said: “We are tremendously excited about bringing audiences the sequel to Africa’s first legal drama series, Castle & Castle, along with our partners, Netflix. Fans were riveted by Season 1, with a lot of talkability on social media, and we responded to their desire to see more. Castle & Castle Season 2 is a very sexy series and promises to deliver on high drama and some very unexpected twists and turns. Netflix really supports the African content industry, and I am absolutely delighted to be partnering with the streaming giant on another release.”
Mofe-Damijo said: “Remi and Tega Castle’s marriage is put to the test in Season two more so than ever. A host of disputes crop up that affect their work and their inter-personal relationship. This season, the series tackles a lot of issues prevalent in contemporary African society. It will dare you to judge! I am proud of this production and very excited that it will premiere again on Netflix.”
To Dakore Akande continues: “My character ‘Remi Castle’ is a brilliant woman who loves her husband ‘Tega Castle’. However the couple has very conflicting ideas on their legal interests, which causes incredible tension. I am happy to be working alongside RMD again, someone I consider to be a living legend.”
