Declare Bandits Terrorists, PFN Tells FG

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), South West Zone, has asked the federal government to declare bandits as terrorists without any exception to rule.

Addressing journalists after the maiden convocation and inauguration of its zonal executives at the Vineyard Christian Church, Osolo Way, Isolo Lagos, the PFN National Vice President, South West Zone, Archbishop John Osa-Oni, insisted that nobody was above the law. “So if one group of persons are terrorising the country, they should be put in their place,” he said.

He however said it would be unfair for Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to be declared terrorists as the group has not done much havoc and injustice as Boko Haram has done over the years in the country.

“No region is superior to another in Nigeria. We are all the same. We are all Nigerians irrespective of the religion we claim.

The presidency should be able to do something about this as everything lies in the leadership of this country,” Osa-Oni said.

While the South West PFN commended the president and the military for haven prevented the slide of Nigeria into complete state of anarchy, as recently witnessed in some North-east and North-west states, it observed that the efforts by government at the various levels of responsibilities have not yet fully addressed the national chaotic situation to the point where Nigerians could sleep with their two eyes closed.

The group therefore insisted that the government must fish out those who are bent on making the South-west unstable, unsafe and uninhabitable, adding, “It will be a whirlwind that does nobody good if the government waits until people begin to defend themselves.”
