NNEW 8th Summit To Empower Women On Digitalisation  

Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW), an arm of the Nigerian Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), as announced  it eighth edition of its annual summit, them ‘Commitment to Excellence’  scheduled for Tuesday, November 2, and Wednesday, November 3, at NECA House, Ikeja, Lagos.

Speaking during a press conference recently to officially announce the summit, president of NNEW, Mrs. Funmilayo Arowoogon, noted that this year’s theme would equip women with the right kind of information to prepare and empower them to take specific steps towards planning for their future with emphasis on digitalisation.

She added that the summit will help participants come up with what it takes to have the will to win, the desire to succeed and the urge to reach their full potential, she said.

“We must always remember that, in tough times and trying times, what helps us to think and create better, putting us over the challenges, is information.

“ Our businesses must be resilient and agile enough to adapt to change quickly and they must leverage on technology and innovation in service delivery because business is no longer the same” she said.

Also speaking in the same vein of the summit, Chairperson Planning Committee of the summit, Mrs. Bukola Adeyemi, said the summit will not only empower women but also expose them to how to be independent and grow their business for sustainability.

She added that the summit will also have health experts in attendance who will counsel the women on mental health especially in this difficult time.

“We know that finance is one of the major challenges to business. We will bring in experts who will take the women through a successful business plan and how to manage their business. We are also bringing mental health experts who will address the situation of mental health and how to be healthy.

“Outside of that, we are also inviting renowned politicians who will come talk to the women for those who want to join politics on how to participate in politics the right way. We have a whole of interesting programs that will help develop our women” she said.
