Five more bodies have been pulled out of the debris of the 21-storey building which collapsed in Ikoyi, Lagos on Monday, bringing the death toll to 15 and those rescued to nine.
Updating newsmen on the search and rescue operation, the NEMA Southwest Zonal Coordinator, Ibrahim Farinloye, quoted the Deputy Governor who said that approval was given for the 21-storey about three years ago.
“The problem was the construction,” he said, adding, “The State Government had sealed the site for four months and regular supervision was a continuous one on the site.”
