Revolutionplus Property Launch New Office in Port Harcourt
RevolutionPlus property a foremost real estate in Nigeria recently launched a new branch office in Port Harcourt. The event was graced by the GMD/CEO, Mr. Bamidele Onalaja; Group Executive Director, Mrs. Tolulope Onalaja and its brand ambassadors, Odunlade Adekola and Broda Shaggi.
Talking to newsmen in Port Harcourt at the unveiling of the company’s first estate in Rivers State, the CEO urged investors to insist on due diligence before parting with funds.
He said: “Go with your surveyor to the land and get the coordinates. Go and verify. Make sure it’s free of any government acquisition (government interest) because if government has interest, no matter the year, they will come for it.’
He also advised such investors to go to the real estate company and see their office and the faces behind the company with their own eyes so that they will not lose their money. “Find out what they do, whether they are renting offices or they own them. We here own our offices and we are not running anywhere.
“We have so many properties, so we have nowhere to run to. We make sure that Nigeria becomes a better place. Some people just rent one office and as soon as they collect people’s money, they run. We have seen it all.”
The group managing director said RevolutionPlus came to bring revolution into the real estate sub-sector and make houses cheaper. He said his firm could sell houses at 50 per cent of the market prices.
The company in seven years of existence already has almost 40 estates starting with Mowe Ofada, Ikorodu, Lekki, Sangetedo, Eluju, Chevron, Abraham, Adesanya, Abijo, Jakande, Ikoyi, Abuja, Ibadan, Abeokuta and one now in Port Harcourt. He said the company has moved from selling land to building houses and that the company has over seven subsidiaries.
The BusinessDay Next Bulls Award winner said he left mortgage banking after 13 years to create a niche for himself as an entrepreneur. After initial fears, he raised funds and acquired the first estate in Mowe-Ofada. “This is our seventh year in operation and we have now 38 estates and we are still waxing stronger. That spark has provided seven new companies, over 250 workers, over 5000 real estate agents that sell property for us, plus artisans that work for us everywhere. We have been able to touch lives all over the world.”
The expert said his firm just acquired massive land for an estate in Ikpo in Omagwa five minutes to the Port Harcourt International Airport. “It is called ‘Anfield Park & Garden’ and in the next six months, we have provision to launch two more estates.
One of the things we have done successfully is working closely with state authorities. One of the best ways to develop any state is through the private sector participation in housing sector. Public sector cannot do it alone. If you leave it to the public sector, it will fail, but when the two sectors work together, the state will develop.
He said the company and the Rivers State looked forward meeting to brainstorm and collaborate. “They can say, look, this is the land, come and build for us. We will change face of real estate business in Port Harcourt. That is our vision.
Throwing more light, the Group Executive Director, Tolupe Onalaja, said the era of fears is over as the company has no single bank loans and nobody has lost money with them.
She said the company has grown beyond fears of investors’ funds because there are lots of things they have done that have removed all such fears. “I tell people the landmark we have now makes people develop confidence in us. Anybody can talk big but people have to see what you have put on ground and what you have contributed to Nigeria as a brand. The kind of partnerships we have done have gone beyond running away with people’s money.
“To the glory of God, we have so established in Nigeria that the things we have surpass whatever anybody has put in the company. The company has amassed assets without any loan
“We do not owe any bank a kobo. We sleep with both eyes closed. Nobody loses money with RevolutionPlus. We have a proven track record.”
She condemned Nigerians who do only one business. “Lots of people will hear, oh, there is money in real estate and they jump in. They take people’s money and run away. We have heard all sorts of stories. What we want to tell Port Harcourt people is, RevolutionPlus is not running away. We always say we are here for the long time. We have an international office in Dallas where we network with Nigerians in the Diaspora. We are the only Nigerian real estate company that is registered with the US government. Your money is safe and secure with RevolutionPlus.”
She said the company is ready to collaborate with willing state governments to develop their states through public-private partnership (PPP).
She said they have fenced their estate and are the only one to do so. She also said the company would construct the road to theirs, Anfield Estate, where all others just have signboards. “They say, this is how they do it in Port Harcourt, we say, we are here to teach them how to do real estate. You cannot say you are selling estate with only signboard without evidence of effective occupation or ownership. It is when your area is fenced, then you have taken ownership. You cannot take ownership of bare land.”
She said: “When we started in Ibeji Lekki in Lagos, this was same scenario; they will sell land and put signage and begin to collect money from people. Somebody can carry away the signboard. How do you show you have taken possession? It’s your fence that says it is your own.
“In Lekki, we started fencing. Nobody will see fence and not buy. That is how we caused a evolution there and people started fencing like us, because people were no longer buying unfenced estates. That is what we bring to Port Harcourt. Soon, our estate will stand out. It is a matter of time. People will be forced to do what is right because we believe that if you want to sell estate, you have to provide infrastructure and fence it. That is our brand.”
