Teaser for ‘Superstar’ Stars Nancy Isime, Timini Egbuson

The end of the year is looking really great for movie buffs and fans of Nollywood as it promises exciting ride this December with an interesting list of new movie debut, one of which is the romantic drama, ‘Superstar’. The teaser is out and captivating, starring Nancy Isime and Timini Egbuson. Scenes from the teaser show the rise to stardom of an up-and-coming actress Queen (played by Isime), as she plows through life and love but seemingly torn between two hearts.
A joint production by Inkblot and FilmOne, the movie is set for a cinema debut on December 29. The film follows the story of Queen, an actress who struggles to navigate life and love in 21st century Nollywood. Queen must find the balance between artistry and stardom whilst surviving the demons of her past. It also stars, Eku Edewor, Daniel Etim Effiong, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Lord Frank.
Director Akhigbe Ilozobhie shared a post with the teaser on his Instagram. “Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the teaser of my third feature film ‘Superstar’”. Popularly known as Akay Mason, Ilozobhie said “Making this movie has been dream come true, a chance to tell a story that has been dear to my heart for so long. I really can’t wait for the audience to see this movie as it promises to be a cinematic experience like no other.”
Ilozobhie shares writing credits with Uyouyou Adia. Also on the scriptwriting credits for ‘Superstar’ is Chinaza Onuzo, an Inkblot co-founder. Zulumoke Oyibo, another Inkblot co-founder, said: “We first employed Akay as a Production Assistant in 2015. “We are so proud to see his growth and how he continues to break new ground in his writing and directing career. ‘Superstar’ is a testament to his vision and talent. The audience is in for an exciting ride this December.”
‘Superstar’ marks Inkblot’s ninth collaboration with FilmOne Entertainment. Together, their collaborations are acclaimed to have generated over N1 billion in the box office. Speaking of their latest film, Moses Babatope, managing director of FilmOne Entertainment, said: “Our collaborations with Inkblot Productions are known to have produced exceptional content for the big screen. “With ‘Superstar’, our ninth project, it looks like the writers, cast, and crew have put their hearts and souls into an amazing story.”
