Tributes Galore for Late Agura Hotel Abuja Chairman
Eminent Nigerian have been paying glowing tributes to the memory of the late Chairman of Agura Hotel Abuja, HRH Eze Dr. Sir Maxwell Kanu. They include the Hon. Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu; the former Governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Senate Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu; Rt. Hon. Anyim Pius Anyim, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the former governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife.
Others include the Primate, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Rev, Dr. Henry Ndukuba; Archbishop Leonard Kawas of World Harvest Ministries and Dr. Kema Chikwe, former Minister of Aviation and many others.
The personalities all described the deceased as a most patriotic Nigerian who was honoured by the Federal Government of Nigeria as the Prime Developer of Abuja by his investment in Agura Hotel, the first hospitality industry in the Federal Capital.
In an interview during the Night of Tributes held in Abuja recently, a scion of the Kanu family, Pastor Ernest Kanu described the deceased as the greatest benefactor of the larger Kanu family and the larger Ejezie Autonomous Community in Arondizuogu, Imo State.
He disclosed that the huge gap left by the demise of the traditional ruler will be very difficult to fill. Pastor Kanu who is based in the United Kingdom stated that the deceased left behind many enduring legacies which will stand to his everlasting memory.
There will be a flag stop at the M.O Kanu Blood Bank in Aba and at his Ochiriozuo House and Commendation Service at St. Michael’s Anglican Cathedral, all in Aba on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.
The remains of the late traditional ruler will be laid to rest in his palace at Arondizuogu on Friday, November 26, 2021 after funeral service at Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Arondizuogu, Imo State.
