32-Year-Old Man Dies in Building Collapse

Kano State fire service yesterday confirmed the death of a 32-year-old man, Rabiu Musa, due to a collapsed building under construction.
The Spokesman of the state fire service, Mr. Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, explained that they received a distress call from Nigerian communications commission (NCC) at 1:39p.m. on Thursday.
Abdullahi pointed out that on arrival, the rescue team discovered that a three storey building under construction had collapsed and trapped two men at Ahmadu Bello Way, opposite state library Nasarawa Local Government Area.
He maintained that the team succeeded in retrieving two men, 52-year-old man Danjuma Tijjani and Rabi’u Musa.
The spokesman said the two men were conveyed to Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital, where doctors confirmed the death of Rabi’u who was evacuated from the building unconscious.
Abdullahi said investigation was ongoing to unravel the mystery behind the unfortunate incident.
He charged the general public to maintain safety at all times and urged them to report road accidents, fire outbreaks, collapsed buildings, drowning among others to the nearest fire service office.
