Yvonne Onwuka:  Logic, Good Reasoning and Effective Communication are key in Leadership

Yvonne Chioma Onwuka, a graduate of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Lagos is a definition of an energetic, ambitious person who has developed a mature approach to any task that she undertakes or situation that she is presented with. Her self-motivated, creative, adaptable and having a keen eye for details led her to contest for the position of Lagos State House of Assembly Lagos mainland constituency 2 elections under ADC in March 2019 where she came in 3rd in the polls but she is relentlessly and driven to prove a much higher height come 2023.

As she journeys on leadership she stated that, “I want to make a difference to society and work for the well being of the people of my constituents. A good leader needs a good understanding of the society and culture, good listening skills and an ability to be analytical and influence change.”

She is fluent in French, Igbo and Yoruba languages and this makes communication skills very demonstrable. Currently involved in various projects such as; entrepreneurial initiatives for young women in Lagos State, training and equipping French teachers for both primary and secondary schools, Sponsoring of students who can’t afford fees for both nursery and primary schools.

Gearing towards the elections she is a lot optimistic and strong willed that her term would prove a difference. Attesting to this she stated, “When elected I intend to use logic, good reasoning and effective communication to implement change in the way society and my constituents are treated by being in touch with their lives.”
