Over 150 Golfers for Captain’s Inaugural Tourney

Golf rivalries will be rekindled today at the golf course, Sapele Athletic Club 1897 for the Golf Section Captain’s Inaugural Golf Tournament.

This becomes necessary as golfing friends and associates of Okakuro Gilbert Aghogho, Captain of the golf section will storm the ancient Sapele Town for his inaugural tournament.

The golf event which will tee-off today, will attract golfers across Nigeria to the oldest golf club in the country.

About 150 golfers have already indicated interest to honour the golf tournaments, and to enjoy the club hospitality in the ancient town.

Similarly, the tournament is to officially usher in the captain, Aghogho, whose charismatic nature is already changing and redefining the oldest golf course in Nigeria.

The captain appraised the immense contributions and innovation embarked upon across all sporting sections by President of the club, Professor Nyerovwo Tonukari.

He described the president as a man with big vision.

While responding on the schedule of the tournament, he stated that men’s and ladies event as well as guests will be on course today, after then will be presentation of trophies, various prizes and dinner party.
