2023: Ayade Informs Buhari about his Presidential Ambition

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State Tuesday met with President Muhammadu Buhari and informed him of his presidential ambition ahead of the May 2022 primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ayade, who spoke with newsmen at the State House, Abuja, said he had the longest meeting ever with the president who he said advised him to do more consultation before declaring.

The governor, who said he came to seek spiritual and political guidance from the president on who will take over from him come 2023 for continuity sake, said security, economy, electricity and employment will be his focus should he become the president.

Ayade promised to replicate what he did in Cross River, adding that if the presidency is zoned to the south, he is willing to take up the challenge as the only APC governor in the South-south.
