Connak Foundation, a non-profit, non-governmental organization that started in 2012 with a mission to enhance dignity of human life by promoting good health and building economic capacities of youths and women within the rural communities in South-East Nigeria, on Friday 29th April, celebrated its 10th anniversary and unveiling event in Lagos at the prestigious Lagos Continental Hotel. There was a display of glamour and glitz as prominent faces in the entertainment and corporate industries gathered together for the celebrations.
Okey Bakassi and Dan De Humorous were the event anchors and steadily kept everyone entertained throughout the night. One of the major highlights of the event was the impressive performance of Toiner B, winner of Connak Foundation Talent Hunt, who serenaded guests at the event and was later joined by music star, 2face Idibia, who thrilled fans with an amazing performance.
Founded by Ken Nnamdi Ukeagu, the Foundation continues to thrive under the leadership of a true visionary and philanthropist, with a strong desire for excellence. The Foundation’s commitment is to redirect and groom the youths in rural communities who were about to be overtaken by social vices like drug abuse, kidnapping, rape, and cultism.
Speaking on the next phases for the Foundation, the CEO Mrs. Carole Emeka Sunday said, “to start with, we conducted a need assessment in Igando community, Alimosho L.G.A, and observed the challenge of access to clean and safe water. We have undertaken the installation of a borehole with complete water treatment and filtration device setup. This infrastructural development will alleviate the regular search and lift the financial burden of buying water amongst indigent families and guarantee access to clean, safe, and potable water”
