The Kano State Governor, Mr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has reconciled with Senator Barau Jibrin, who is representing Kano North Senatorial District.

Ganduje and Barau had reconciled when they met in Abuja to undergo screening for the Senate contest.

Inside sources said yesterday in Kano that the duo held a reconciliatory meeting that was facilitated by some party’s stakeholders, and eventually resolved the matter amicably.

Barau had reportedly resolved to remain in the party to contest the Senate with the governor in the same Senatorial District.

Recall that Ganduje and Barau were at loggerheads when the later joined former Governor of Kano State, Mr. Ibrahim Shekarau, to form a faction in the All Progressives Congress (APC), immediately after the party’s state congresses late last year.

THISDAY gathered that as part of the reconciliation, the governor agreed to withdraw his senatorial ambition for Barau, who was said to have already obtained the nomination form.

The Secretary of the APC, Mr. Ibrahim Zakari Sarina, when contacted on telephone yesterday, confirmed the development, saying that “it is true. The report is true.”
