2023: Ifeanyi Ubah Gets YPP Return Ticket to Senate

The senator representing Anambra South in the Senate, Ifeanyi Ubah, has emerged the candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to re-contest the Anambra South senatorial seat next year.


A statement by the senator’s Media Office and made available to THISDAY in Abuja on Monday, explained that the delegates of the YPP in Anambra South Senatorial District reaffirmed his candidature in Nnewi on Sunday.
The statement added that the senator, who contested unopposed, garnered 34 votes with one void vote to emerge as the candidate of the party.


Part of the statement read: “The primary was conducted by the officials from the headquarters of the party led by the National Secretary, Vidiyeno Baimaiyi, and his team.


“It was witnessed by representatives from the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC).”
Ubah, in his acceptance speech, pledged to consolidate on his performance so far in the upper chamber of the National Assembly.


The statement also explained that the former president general of Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, Peter Uzokwe, also emerged as the candidate of the party for the Nnewi North/Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency.
