The 17 governorship candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have revealed that they were in Rivers State last Tuesday night to resolve the feud between the party presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and River State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

The PDP governorship candidate of Kaduna State, Isa Mohammed Bashiru, made this known to journalists at the end of their closed-door meeting with Wike at his private residence in Rumuepirikom, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

Bashiru, who spoke on behalf of other 16 gubernatorial candidates of the PDP, said they were hopeful of the outcome of their meeting.

The candidates said they have earlier met with Atiku to settle the internal crisis in the party involving him and Wike.

The Kaduna State governorship candidate also revealed that they would meet with the National Working Committee (NWC) of PDP to take a decision on the matter.

He stated: “We had a fruitful, open discussion with all sincerity. And we are home and dry. We met and discussed on issues that border on the situation within the party.  And internal matter is not what you need to get details of. But, we are through.

“We have discussed with the presidential candidate (Atiku). We are here with our brother and friend (Wike). And issues that border on what has happened has been sorted out. The issue is being resolved as far as I am concerned.

“We have heard from both sides, and we are going to meet with the NWC to take a decision.”
