Rangers Boost Players’ Morale with On-the-spot Match Bonuses Payment

As a measure to bring out the very best in its players ahead of the remaining fixtures of the 2022/2023 NPFL Abridge season, the management of Rangers International F.C is taking the motivation of the players to the next level by approving and facilitating payment of match bonuses immediately after a game.

Administrative Secretary of Rangers, Ferdinand Ugwuarua, made this revelation midweek while taking a look into the match day 14 fixture against visiting Niger Tornadoes in Awka.

“We are not leaving anything to chance in getting our players properly motivated for the remaining matches of the season. On management’s part, it was agreed to make available to the players, their match bonuses at the venue of the matches which started with the game we played in Akure just as there are individual awards while bonuses for wins on the road have also been raised,” stated the youthful club administrator.

He further said that the management was working in tandem with the technical crew to fashion out more motivational packages that will help the team achieve its set target of picking a ticket to the season-ending Super-Six playoff from where it will achieve the ultimate of playing continental football next season.

Meanwhile, Rangers left-back, Kenneth Igboke, has scooped the club’s Player-of-the-month award that comes with some financial attachments and recognition.

Technical Adviser of the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Abdul Maikaba, Tuesday, made the announcement after a training session stressing that the young defender, who is one of the players promoted from its Feeder team at the start of the season, has been superlative in all the matches he has played.

In a very brief ceremony, coach Maikaba said of the award, “The award is to keep the team motivated as we hit the home stretch of the season and Kenneth Igboke was the overwhelming favorite amongst his teammates and coaches. It is my belief that this will spur him to do more in coming matches.”

The club’s Administrative Secretary who has been doing much to motivate the players, individually and collectively, said at the event, “I believe that we can deliver the required goods in the remaining games of the season with this award system. Congratulations, Kenneth, as I urge you to keep the flag flying while I charge other players to up their game to get the recognition.”

The club’s head of medicals, Dr. Wen Udorji, in his contribution, said, “Kenneth has never ceased to amaze the team since his promotion and it is an award well deserved. I urge him to keep up the good work.”

The award winner, overtaken by emotions at the recognition, said, “I thank all members of the team that saw my little contributions in the team to pick me for the award. This is just a call for more dedication and determination in coming matches until we achieve our collective target of being amongst the top finishers of the season. I am really humbled.”
