Widows and children in Nsukka Enugu state are all warming up for the 7th edition of the Mega Carnival with Nkoli Nwa Nsukka slated for April 23rd in Nsukka, Enugu state.

The event is powered by Nollywood star actress and philanthropist Rachael Okonkwo, known as Nkoli Nwa Nsukka.

Mega Carnival with Nkoli Nwa Nsukka is a charity act touching lives and putting smiles on people’s faces. For this edition, “We will empower over 5,000 children and families among others in need”.

Although the previous six editions have been held in Enugu and Anambra states, respectively, Nkoli is confident that the 7th edition will sweep residents and beneficiaries off their feet.

Highlighting her aim to reach out to the less advantaged persons and widows in society, Nkoli says making each year’s carnival bigger, better, and more excitement-packed is her benchmark.

“I expect to host over 5,000 kids and families. This is our way of giving back to society to improve the world,” she emphasised. This year, Nkoli will roll out stationery and leisure items to kids while widows will receive foodstuff.

She added: “We will equip the youth with empowerment tools to significantly reduce the unemployment rate and allow them to showcase their talent.”

While catering to those in need, Nkoli is not letting raw talents slip through her fingertips. She is creating an ambiance for youths to display their skills.

She affirmed: “The Mega Carnival with Nkoli Nwa Nsukka will allow youth to showcase their innate gifts,” which will be harnessed for a more productive outcome.

The actress, best known for her humanitarian activities and role in blockbuster movies, regretted that the carnival suffered setbacks in 2020 and 2021 occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic. “That is why this year’s gathering will make up for the two years we laid low,” she hinted.

As an all-time star-studded event where celebrities, among other bigwigs in society, always donate their widow’s mite, Nkoli is beyond thrilled that this year’s edition will be worthwhile.
