Davido to Dazzle Fans at 50,000 Capacity TBS

A fropop artiste Davido is billed to perform in Lagos tomorrow Sunday, April 23 at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS); the third and last leg of his special album shows which kicked off in New York this month. The album concert tour he dubbed ‘A Timeless Night’. It will mark Davido’s first home performance of the album songs in Nigeria at the 50,000 capacity venue.
He first performed songs off his new album – Timeless – which was released on March 31st – in Irvine Plaza New York before dazzling fans at Koko, London on April 5. Davido also performed two songs off the album on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’. At a press conference held in Lagos last Monday, Davido spoke about the concert which promises fans an unforgettable experience.
While interacting with the press, Davido reassured fans that he has visited the Lagos State Commissioner of Police who promised to beef up the venue with extra security. The concert is set to attract all levels of Davido fans as there is a ticket which goes for N20,000 while the highest sells for millions. Davido also spoke about his upcoming deluxe album and what fans should expect.
Davido said the deluxe was scheduled for release later this year and fans can look forward to more great songs. He also stated that he intends to continue performing at the highest level while using his music to position Africa at the top.
During the press conference, the singer addressed the subject of the album not laced with so much emotion following his recent experience and the fact that one had expected more personal content that shares his mood at the time. The megastar stated that he doesn’t like to involve his personal affairs with his music as he prefers to keep his music simple and fun.
“There’s emotion but not too much emotion in the album. If you listen to Davido’s music over the years, I have always been a happy person whether I was going through something or not,” he said. The multi-award-winning hit-maker further stated that there’s time for everything and if it’s time to explore more personal time, he will do that.
“That side of my life, if I want to talk about it, there’s time for that but on this album that’s not what I was going for.”
Davido’s ‘Timeless’ album has registered great success as it has shattered every first-week Nigerian record across all five major streaming platforms in the country.
