We are Fostering a Culture of Sustainability in Nigeria’s Real Estate Industry” says Ayodeji, CEO AyHomes

Nigerian realtor and CEO Ayhomes, Omogboye Saheed Ayodeji is calling for green building practice and promoting sustainable development in the real estate industry.

As the impact of climate change becomes more apparent, real estate companies are recognizing the need to reduce their environmental footprint and preserve the planet for future generations.

In a recent interview where he shared his thoughts, Ayodeji noted that his company, AyHomes, is at the forefront of this movement; implementing a range of sustainability initiatives to reduce energy consumption and promote green building practices.

“At Ayhomes, we’ve emphasized the importance of using energy-efficient materials in the design and construction of buildings, including low-emissivity glass and energy-efficient lighting and HVAC systems”, Ayodeji said.

“Also, our company has implemented recycling programs for materials such as paper, plastic, and glass, to reduce waste and conserve resources”.

He stressed that his company is exploring the use of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower greenhouse gas emissions.

AyHomes has installed solar panels on some of its buildings, and is also purchasing renewable energy credits to offset its carbon footprint.

Ayodeji further encouraged realtors to educate their clients and staffs to adopt sustainable practices to ensure a more sustainable future for all.

“In addition to promoting green building practices, we are also fostering a culture of sustainability among our employees and tenants”, he explained. “We also provide information on energy conservation, waste reduction, and other sustainability-related topics, to educate our stakeholders about the importance of sustainability”.

Ayodeji and AyHomes are setting an example for the rest of Nigeria’s real estate industry, demonstrating that sustainable and green building practices are not only good for the environment but also good for business.
