Omotoyosi Ogunbanwo: Setting Trends through Mentorship, Women Empowerment
Omotoyosi Ogunbanwo is a highly accomplished entrepreneur who is setting trends, pushing boundaries and making a positive impact with her innovative ideas in the fintech space.
As the co-founder of Synerge, a one-stop resource outlet and community for women on a mission to close the career and financial gender gap, Ogunbanwo rocks her role with pride as a mentor and advocate for women.
She provides a safe space for women where they can access resources and find sponsors, mentors, coaches, cofounders, business partners, and investors to actualise their careers goals.
She co-founded Techavilly, an EdTech platform that has trained over 10,000 people and provided free tech training to over 2,000 individuals worldwide in their first six months of operations.
Part of her sterling achievements includes being the co-founder of Emerald, an educational platform that teaches financial literacy to Nigerians at home and abroad. Emerald is helping millennials grow and invest their money without getting their fingers burnt.
Ogunbanwo also provides scholarships for Nigerian girls looking to pursue postgraduate programmes in the US, covering GRE, transcript fees, application fees, visa fees, and flight ticket fees.
While five girls were beneficiaries of the scholarship programme in 2021, Ogunbanwo has mentored many people over the years, helping them to get scholarships abroad, relocate, upskill, and get remote jobs.
Indeed, every individual making an effort deserves their flowers. And Ogunbanwo’s consistent contributions to women’s empowerment have not gone unnoticed. She has spoken at events and shared her wealth of knowledge on different platforms, making her a highly respected figure in the industry.
Ogunbanwo is a seasoned professional in the field of emerging technologies in finance. She currently serves as the Senior PM, Devices FinTech at Amazon, where she helps to build products on the Fintech team.
More so, her academic portfolio makes no sound; she has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Portsmouth, England; an MSc in Business Analytics from Texas A&M; and a Micro Master’s in Statistics and Data Science.
