The Uncommon Story Of A Young Nigerian Business Magnate — David Achom
David Achom is an American-certified Wealth Manager, Forex coach, and philanthropist. He’s argued to be one of the best forex mentors in Africa’s history, because of his approach to financial education. He hails from Isiala-Mbano LGA in Imo state.
His childhood days were filled with financial struggles, as he watched his father beg his young school principal to grant he and his four siblings access to class, because they defaulted in paying the fees. He said in an interview that they ate once a day, and on rare occasions, they ate twice. Their common meal was Eba, the African name for mounded yellow garri. “A flood incident happened when I was 12 years, and that made my family homeless for a couple months, we slept at our neighbor’s house. No one except our neighbor came to our rescue, not even the church leaders my father believed in. This led me to fight for success at a young age and I did it, made my first million naira at the age of 16.”
He is now best known as the Founder, and Executive Chairman of the Afro Money Week Ltd. (organisers of Lagos Money Week). Achom is also the CEO of Pacesetters Entrepreneurs Network (PEN Global Group), and Board Chair for PUJANN Nigeria Limited.

He also worked as the Brand Strategist and Head of Marketing at PUJANN Nigeria Limited, a leatherwork company, which he now leads as the Chairman, board of directors.
