Kayefi’s New Song, Ghetto, to Hit Airwave May 3rd

Nigerian recording artiste, Lawal Deborah Olufunmilayo, best known as Kayefi, is set to release a new single, Ghetto, on May 3rd this year.

The singer, who hails from Ogun state, said the new body of work will be released off her upcoming studio album.

“I have an 11-track album that I’ll release later in the year. But right now, I’m releasing a single from the album, and the song is called Ghetto. It’s an exceptional song to me as it talks about my childhood,” she announced.

On the inspiration behind the song, Kayefi said it’s to give hope to hopeless people. “Ghetto is a song that offers hope that things will always improve.

“Ghetto is also a state of mind. Any situation that has you in a corner is a ghetto situation. You must always find a way to survive it and have faith that it will always get better. Most of my other songs are anti-government and heartbreaks.”

Kayefi is pleased to have love songs and songs that speak of hope and a desired future to her credit. She expressed: “It’s a part of me I want to share with the world, and I think I’m ready to talk about these things.”

Kayefi recently hosted some of her loyal fans to a private listening party of the song in Camden Town, London, where the audience described her as a powerhouse.
