Young Tigers Fans Burgle Rivers Utd Team Bus Ahead of Clash Today

Despite having a two-goal advantage from the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup in Nigeria, Tanzania’s Young Tigers’ fans still played the usual dirty tricks in African football of intimidating opponents in very bizarre manner.

Rivers United are in Dar es Salam to play the Young Tigers in the second leg of the quarter final this afternoon. Yesterday while the Nigerian NPFL champions were having their final training session, their team bus was reportedly burgled while valuables running into thousands of dollars were stolen.

That was not all, the yet to be identified culprits also spayed toxic chemicals on their belongs.

In a Twitter post by the Port Harcourt team, the sum of $5,250 was reportedly stolen from that break in.

Although the experience understandably shook the Rivers United players and staff, the players have however resolved to cancel their two-goal disadvantage and go ahead to pick the ticket to the final four.

On the scene to witness the incident were Ali Nwebe, the CAF General Coordinator from Uganda, and Jamil Bawalaggana Mpagi, the CAF Head of Security from the same country.

Rivers United will need to regroup quickly as they face an uphill battle in the quarterfinals, having lost the first leg 2-0 to Young Africans. They will need to at least match that scoreline to stand any chance of progressing to the semifinals.
