How to Clean a Blurry Windshield

A blurry windshield can become a nightmare, especially during the rainy season. At Y&L Auto Glass we love to help you, which is why in this post we are sharing some tips to get rid of a blurry windshield.
Here are some tips to clean road grime, tree sap, salt and other windshield hazards from your windshield and/or car windows. Having a blurry windshield is very dangerous for you and your family, we recommend you to make an effort cleaning your auto glass at least once a month, to ensure that they remain crystal clear for safe driving.
What do you need?
Degreaser in a spray bottle.
Water, try to get it distilled to avoid minerals leaving spots.
Automotive glass wax, like water repellent, Rain X
Paper, old newspapers work well.
White vinegar
Garden hose
Microfiber towels
Soft scrub brush
Steps
1. Begin by spraying all of your auto glass, the windshield glass, windows, headlights, and mirrors with the degreaser mixed with water. Scrub all of the glass and lights with the soft brush until it lathers and the dirt or debris is gone. Then wash your entire car and rinse it with clean water. Try to wash your car in the shadow to prevent your auto glasses from drying too fast. If your car is in the sun or it is a hot day, you may need to wash one window at a time to prevent them from drying too quickly and streaking.
2. Once your car has been washed, fill a spray bottle about 1/3 to 1/2 full with distilled water, and add vinegar to fill the remainder of the bottle. Shake the bottle for a couple of minutes to mix. Spray this water and vinegar mixture on the outside glass, lights, and mirrors, then wipe it off with crumpled newspapers, wiping from the top down in long, even strokes.
3. It’s time to spray small areas of the glass with the automotive wax. Using a microfiber towel to avoid leaving any stripes in your auto glass, use a circular motion to buff these sections dry, one area at a time. Be careful to overlap old areas with new to avoid missing any sections. Buff all of the glass a second time with a clean microfiber towel to remove any excess glass wax.
4. Now that you have finished with the outside glass, clean your interior glass using the same process, but don’t add the glass wax.
Remember: never use products containing ammonia on the inside of your car. It can release toxic fumes, and the over-spray can damage vinyl and upholstery. The Rain X water repellent will help keep your windshield, lights, and mirrors fog rain-free for better visibility. Try to use these tips once a month or at least before the rainy season.
